Introduction
Welcome to A Boomer Retirement. As an educator for thirty-three years, I have had a full, rich life. Now that I am retiring, I hope to rediscover some of the dreams I have sacrificed and to discover new dreams. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended the University of Illinois twice. My first degree was a B. A. in German Secondary Education and my second was an M. Ed. in Preschool Special Education. I received a C. A. S. in Technology in Education from National-Louis University. An area of mission for me is Gifted Education. My jobs included:
1. substituting in the Oxnard, California area,
2. running the language lab at University High and being a teaching assistant in an Early Childhood Program in Urbana, Illinois,
3. teaching Emotionally Disturbed students in Aledo, Illinois,
4. teaching Computer Science in Joy, Illinois,
5. teaching Behavior Disordered students in Wilmette, Illinois, and
6. teaching Early Childhood, Learning Opportunities, and Language and Social Skills classes for the Special Education District of Lake County.
In the summers, I enjoy
7. teaching gifted children for the Center for Gifted.
Interests include needlework of all kinds, reading, writing, science, and resilience.
